The "missing link," in one paragraph

Standard medical/fitness devices expose data through published Bluetooth SIG GATT profiles that Chrome's Web Bluetooth reads directly — no app, no aggregator, no backend for the read. That's why the Nonin pulse ox is verified and the heart-rate/thermometer/standard-BP/step classes work the same way. Omron's consumer cuffs and Kardia break that pattern: Omron consumer devices use a partly-proprietary protocol and sync to OMRON's cloud (so the official read is the OMRON Connect Create API), and Kardia is a single-lead ECG that transmits by ultrasound or a proprietary AliveCor SDK — there is no open Web Bluetooth path for it at all. So for those two we ship a real, coin-earning, Passport-writing experience today (Omron: standard-BLE pro cuffs + manual; Kardia: photo + manual) while the vendor integrations are provisioned.
