When the state stepped back from recognizing the skill in this trade, we decided the answer wasn't to lower the bar — it was to raise it ourselves, and to give our people a credential and a career the state never will. Wisconsin retired the barbering tiers in 2017. We rebuilt them — a real, verifiable credential ladder that says, in writing an outsider can check: you cleared a genuine bar. No one else in this market can still say that.
