Hybrid Training · Online + In the Chair

One learning environment for the whole craft.

Self-paced lessons you take on your phone, hands-on practice at the chair with a certified trainer, and a verifiable credential at the end. This is where a licensed barber becomes a recognized professional — and keeps climbing.

Why "hybrid," and why it matters
The craft was never learned from a screen alone, and it was never learned from the floor alone either. This environment does both on purpose: the knowledge goes online where it's consistent and repeatable, the skill stays at the chair where a master can watch your hands, and the proof is a credential no one can fake.

Your learning journey
Every professional moves through the same four steps, blending online and in-chair at each stage. You always know where you are and what's next.
Step1

Onboard to the house standard

Week 1 · Professional (Tier 1)

Complete the core sanitation and service modules online, then walk the standard on the floor with your shop's trainer. Pass the sanitation exam at 80% and start logging chair-hours.

Step2

Build the caretaker & service skills

Weeks 2–8 · Community Caretaker endorsement

Work the skin-cancer, lice, and consultative-service tracks. Each is a short online lesson followed by a scored role-play you run in the Friday huddle. Notice early, refer safely, never diagnose — and learn to raise it without alarming a soul.

Step3

Log the hours, master operations

Ongoing · Certified Manager (Tier 2)

Your chair-hours accumulate automatically from the shop's booking system. Cross the documented-hours threshold, pass the advanced sanitation and operations exam, and you reach the rung Wisconsin deleted in 2017 — rebuilt here, verifiable.

Step

Earn the right to teach

By invitation · Certified Educator (Tier 3)

The top of the ladder: the master who can train others, on the floor and on the corporate stage. Requires the Caretaker endorsement, a demonstrated teach-back, and the educator exam. This is the credential that keeps the whole environment trustworthy.

The module catalog
Each module is tagged by how you learn it: online, at the chair, or a scored assessment. Online modules open in the portal; the scored role-plays are playable right now.
The weekly rhythm
Hybrid training only works if it fits the week you already run. It rides the Friday mini-meeting the shop already holds — no new night classes, no lost chair time.

On your own

Take this week's online lesson on your phone between clients. Five to twelve minutes, whenever you have them.

Friday huddle

The trainer runs the 5-to-20-minute scenario with the team. Play it, make the call, see the outcome, earn the coins.

At the chair

Put the week's skill into a real client visit. Your trainer watches, coaches, and signs off on the technique.

Every milestone

Modules, exams, and endorsements post to your credential automatically. The climb is visible to you and your shop.

Why this elevates the profession

The chair is a skilled profession. This environment proves it.

When Wisconsin retired the barbering licensure tiers in 2017, the market lost the line between a professional who logged thousands of documented hours and a graduate who had never worked a real chair. This learning environment rebuilds that line — with a real bar, real testing, and a record an outsider can verify.

A barber who trains here doesn't just cut hair. They hold a credential that says: I earned this, I keep learning, and I look out for the people in my chair. That is the status the trade deserves, restored — and made portable, so it travels with the professional for life.
