STAY, GROW or GO
Session Planning — Executive Summary

Outcome of the August 11, 2026 working call on the Summit 4 Aging Workforce & Succession segment.

📅 Tue, Aug 11, 2026 · 11:00 a.m. 👥 Rosa Ramos · Molina Healthcare 👥 Lucy Howell & Dr. Rob Gillio · The Force for Health® 🎪 Summit 4 · Nov 16–17 · Rio Salado, Tempe

Bottom line: the afternoon "aging & succession" slot is now a defined, interactive 45-minute panel titled STAY, GROW or GO — Improving Retention & Knowledge Transfer in a Shifting Landscape. Rosa moderates, three panelists react to three questions, and the whole room answers the same three questions live from their phones. A working draft of the session is already built and linked below. What's left is seat recruitment and three logistics answers from Selena.

1 The reframe that unlocked it

"Aging workforce" was reading two different ways — bringing seniors into the workforce vs. the current workforce aging out. The group replaced it with the three reasons people actually leave a role, which gives the panel a clean three-question spine:

STAY
Competitive offers

Pay, benefits, agency and cross-town bidding wars pulling talent away. Can you hold your people against an outside offer today?

GROW
Purpose, development & burnout

Workload, meaning and growth paths — the daily reasons people lean in or burn out. Internal mentorship and development as the retention lever.

GO
Retirement & succession

Knowledge walking out the door. Is critical wisdom captured — and is anyone being developed to step up — before your experienced people retire?

Anchor question for the GO lane, straight from the call: "Do you have a program in place that identifies people approaching retirement and connects them to the current workforce to develop their replacement?" Rosa's honest answer — that sits with HR, and I'd have to check — is exactly why the question belongs on stage.
