Why this series exists

Mental health isn’t a destination — it’s a daily practice. And the good news is that the most powerful tools aren’t complicated: noticing what you’re grateful for, doing a small kindness, moving your body, building a moment of calm. Science backs every one of them. So does lived experience.

From Dr. Rob · Co-founder, Force for Health“I’ve watched patients, colleagues, and people I love get stuck — not because they lacked strength, but because no one ever handed them a simple, honest practice. These are what I wish every person had in their back pocket. Start with one. Build the habit. Come back when life gets in the way — because it will, and that’s fine. Comebacks count.”

Meet Dr. Rob.

Dr. Robert Gillio is a physician trained at Mayo Clinic, an inventor with more than a dozen patents, and the co-founder of The Force for Health. He built this series from what he’s seen in critical care, in invention and in life: people don’t get stuck for lack of strength — they get stuck for lack of a simple, honest practice.

“An inventor isn’t a special kind of person. An inventor is just an ordinary person who refused to accept that a problem had to stay a problem.”

Dr. Rob’s lessons and stories are at the heart of every station — now upgraded with games, an eBook, 30-day cards and a leader’s guide.

Learning objectives

By the end of the series, learners will be able to:

  • Explain how dopamine and serotonin shape the “chase” and “contentment,” and why fast rewards can become a loop.
  • Use Dr. Rob’s five-step pattern to turn a frustration into a “what if?” and regain a sense of agency.
  • Practice gratitude and kindness daily, at the Me, We and Ours levels.
  • Choose small habits across body, mind, connection, meaning, environment and growth — and keep them going with comebacks.
  • Recognize when stress, low mood or loneliness may need more support, and know how to reach 988 or a provider.
  • Teach one practice to someone else.

Questions

Good to know

Do I need any background?

No. Dr. Rob starts with the science of how happiness works, then turns it into small, everyday practices with simple analogies — a gas pedal and a comfortable seat, a garden, a pebble in a pond.

What’s the difference between the course, the Qwest, the eBook and the bingo cards?

They cover the same 10 stations. The course is Dr. Rob’s lessons with Pre/Post-Checks, the Qwest turns them into a game with badges and a certificate, the eBook is an illustrated reader with worksheets, and the bingo cards are the 30-day daily practice. Use one, or all of them.

What if I miss a day?

No penalty. Come back, log a couple of entries, and your streak keeps going. We reward the comeback, not perfection.

How long does it take?

About 45–60 minutes per Qwest station including the games, Live It and Share It — about 10 hours for the whole series with the eBook. With a group, plan one 45-minute session per station. See time & coins.

Is this therapy or medical advice?

No. Mental Health & Resilience is education and everyday practice. If you’re struggling, talk with a health care provider. In the US, call or text 988 any time; in an emergency, call 911.

Is it accessible?

The eBook has a text view and read-aloud, every game works on phones, tablets and computers, and every movement practice has a seated version.

💙Having a hard time right now? Call or text 988 any time (US) — the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, free and confidential. In an emergency, call 911.

Comebacks count.
