📖 VIVA Video Series — Teacher's Guide Educator
A comprehensive teaching companion for the VIVA 3D Medical Animation Library. Use the VIVA series across Health, Science, and PE classes to make anatomy and disease prevention visual, memorable, and standards-aligned.
The VIVA Video Series includes 64+ 3D medical animations narrated by Dr. Rob, organized into 9 body systems. Each system includes LEARN It challenges (watch + quiz), LIVE It activities, Train the Brain games, and SHARE It reflections.
Each body system can fill 1–3 class periods depending on depth. Here is a recommended flow for a single system:
- Hook question (3 min) — see system-specific hooks below
- Watch 2–3 core VIVA animations together as a class (15 min)
- Class discussion: What did you see? What surprised you? (10 min)
- Students begin LEARN It challenges individually (15 min)
- Vocabulary review using the Pre-Game terms (7 min)
- Train the Brain game stations: Crossword, Memory Match, Word Search (25 min)
- Students aim for 80%+ to earn Spin4Rewards spins (ongoing)
- Debrief: Which terms were hardest? What connections did you make? (10 min)
- LIVE It self-assessment — students rate their own health habits (10 min)
- SHARE It reflection — write a health pledge or create a poster (20 min)
- Present or share pledges with a partner or the class (15 min)
Students earn coins across four categories for each body system. Coins track engagement and unlock the Spin4Rewards prize wheel at the LEGENDARY tier (80%+).
Tip for teachers: Use the coin totals on each course card (hover over the badge) to see exactly how many coins are available per system. Students who complete all 9 systems earn the VIP VIVA CHAMP badge.
