A Force for Health Region
Built on a $1 Prevention Investment

Turning Pima County into the nation's first student-powered, data-measured Force for Health Network Region — co-hosted with CommunityShare and the Pima County School Superintendent's Office.

A Pima County Prevention Investment Proposal · Co-hosted with CommunityShare  ·  The Force for Health® Network

The Moment

Two proven networks. One county. One dollar.

CommunityShare has already made Pima County a national model for connecting classrooms to community. The Force for Health Network has built the health engine — games, data, media, and coaching — that a community can run on. Together, we can make prevention the county's shared civic project.

📚

CommunityShare's "human library"

PK-12 educators matched to community partners for real-world learning — already live across Pima County with the Superintendent's Office & Tucson Values Teachers.

The Force for Health engine

Reality Health Games, the Chamber of Health, a 360° Academy, and PHIT data — a full stack for healthy-citizen education.

🏜️

Pima is ready

~1.07M residents, a Superintendent's Office that already co-hosts county-wide student events, and six county agencies hungry for measurable prevention.

CommunityShare's own impact library already features "Igniting Passion for Healthcare Careers." We turn that spark into a county-wide system.
Who We Are
The Engine · Seven Gear Hubs

One Network, seven connected gears

A connected system of seven Gear Hubs — one engine that lets a whole community learn, play, measure, and publish its way to health. This proposal turns six of those gears loose on Pima County.

Why This Fits

We finish each other's mission

CommunityShare brings

  • The educator + community-partner network (the "human library")
  • A trusted platform and steward relationships across districts
  • Real-world, student-driven project design
  • National credibility — Forbes, Digital Promise, HundrED, WISE, The 74

Force for Health brings

  • Ready-to-play health content: games, sims, trackers, courses
  • PHIT™ data systems that make every dollar measurable
  • A student media production system — eSport + magazine
  • Virtual coaches (Coach Lucy & Dr. Rob) that scale support

CommunityShare connects people to purpose. Force for Health gives them a healthy purpose to connect around — and the scoreboard to prove it worked.

The Hook

You already co-host the Spelling Bee.
Let's co-host the Reality Health Games.

The proven pattern

The Pima County School Superintendent's Office already runs a beloved, county-wide K-8 Spelling Bee — classroom rounds, school champions, a countywide final, families in the seats.

The new tradition

Same civic ritual — powered by CommunityShare's network — but students compete in Reality Health Games: prevention knowledge, biometrics literacy, career readiness. A new kind of eSport where the whole community levels up.

Classroom rounds → school champions → a Pima County Reality Health Games Championship, hosted by the Superintendent's Office, produced by students, measured by PHIT.

Engagement · Games · Tools · Leaderboards

A whole arcade of ways to play, track & compete

Dozens of live experiences — filter by the lane that matters to each partner. Every tile opens the real page.

The Flagship

A Student-Empowered Mixed Media System

Students aren't the audience — they're the producers. One system, two engines, endless real-world projects for CommunityShare educators and partners.

🎮

Engine 1 · Reality Health Games eSport

A competitive, team-based league on health, prevention, and careers. Leaderboards, seasons, a county championship — a brand-new eSport genre that rewards knowing how to stay well.

📰

Engine 2 · Chamber of Health Magazine

A full-color, interactive, student-produced magazine — family- and community-focused — reporting on local health, county agencies, and the students behind it all.

Learn It Live It Share It Every game played and every story published pays out in Learn It · Live It · Share It — the currency of a healthier county.
Reality Health Games™ · The fun that teaches

The games — and the music — everyone remembers

Our most-loved builds are playable right now, and they're the engine behind the eSport league. Every game pays out Learn It / Live It / Share It coins.

One Investment · Six Agencies

What each county department gets

AgencyWhat the $1 delivers
💼 Economic DevelopmentA visible "Force for Health Region" brand that attracts employers & grants, plus a K-12 → health-careers workforce pipeline and a student creative-economy.
❤️ Department of HealthPHIT dashboards on community health, prevention campaigns co-produced by students, and healthy-citizen education at population scale.
🚑 Department of SafetyYouth preparedness & first-response literacy through games (Prepared Patient, Ready & Resilient), reaching families through student media.
🐾 Animal CareOne-Health & empathy curriculum, humane-education games, and student journalism driving adoptions and volunteering at PACC.
📖 LibrariesThe literal "human library" — health-literacy programming, eSport venues, and magazine distribution hubs across every branch.
🌵 Natural ResourcesOutdoor-health & environmental-health challenges, park-based "Live It" trackers, and student coverage of parks & conservation.
The County Case

One play. Three county wins.

This isn't a "nice-to-have" wellness line item. It's a Workforce Development + Health + Economic Development play that pays three departments back at once.

💼

Workforce Development

A K-12 → CTE → certification → jobs health-career pipeline (phlebotomy, medical, media). Students trained as producers, event managers, and data-literate citizens — the future Pima workforce.

❤️

Health

Population-scale prevention and healthy-citizen education, with PHIT dashboards giving the Health Department live proof of reach and behavior change.

📈

Economic Development

A national "Force for Health Region" brand that attracts employers and grants, a student creative economy, event-driven local activity, and a healthier, more employable population.

Three budgets, one dollar. That's how a $1/head line survives a County Board vote.
One Decision · Every Agency

One contract. Many departments served.

Pima County has long prized operational efficiency — the kind of single, well-placed decision that serves many departments at once, a discipline championed under leaders like former County Administrator Chuck Huckleberry. One low-cost Force for Health agreement does exactly that:

❤️

Health Department

Population prevention, PHIT dashboards, healthy-citizen education.

🐾

Pima Animal Care

One-Health & humane education, adoption & volunteer engagement.

🚴

Natural Resources · The Loop

Park & Loop challenges, outdoor-health trackers, environmental health.

🎓

School Superintendent's Office

Co-hosted Reality Health Games, K-12 reach, program alignment.

💼

Economic Development

Workforce pipeline, "Force for Health Region" brand, grant magnet.

📖

Libraries

Health-literacy programming, game venues, magazine distribution.

One signature. Six-plus departments activated. That's the efficiency Pima County is built to appreciate.
Workforce Development · Three Accelerators

Three lanes from classroom to career

The workforce gear runs on three engines — each a real pathway that turns Pima County students into the region's future talent.

The Accountability Layer

PHIT™ Data Systems make it real

Prevention can't be a slogan. PHIT™ (Personal Health Information Technology) gives every agency a live dashboard — participation, knowledge gains, healthy-behavior streaks, and career interest — tied back to the dollar spent.

📊

Per-agency dashboards

Each department sees its own reach & outcomes.

🔒

Privacy-first

Student data protected; reporting is aggregate.

🎯

Dollar-to-outcome

Every allocation maps to a measurable result.

🌎

Benchmarkable

Pima's numbers become a national reference.

This is what turns a budget line into a re-fundable, grant-attracting, nationally-cited program.
Global Exposure

Pima becomes the county everyone studies
