Find your inner Science Girl. Six Science Stops built around the One Health framework — because the health of you, the animals, and the earth around you are one and the same.
My Science Girl is the first cousin of My Cardio Girl. Where Cardio takes you on a tour through the inside of the body, Science Girl takes you outside — to the soil, the water, the animals, the plants, and the air that make your inside health possible.
This challenge is built on the One Health framework championed by partners like We Are 1Health — the idea that human health, animal health, and environmental health are one continuous system. You can't have one without the others. So we'll explore all three, with six Science Stops, hands-on field work, and the Sunflower Grow Challenge as your living lab.
Three sides of one system. Every Science Stop on this page lives in at least one of these three circles — and most live where they overlap.
Your body, your nutrition, your mental wellness, the food and water you take in.
The pollinators, pets, livestock, and wildlife whose health is bound to ours.
Soil, water, air, climate, biodiversity. The platform every living thing stands on.
Each stop is a Learn It → Live It → Share It mini-quest. Some stops live in the human circle, some in the animal or environmental — most cross all three.
Where does your tap water come from? What's in it? Trace one glass of water from cloud → soil → pipe → you.
Dig a sample. Touch it. Test it. Healthy soil is alive — and your food's nutrition starts here, not at the grocery.
One in three bites of food you eat depends on a pollinator. Find one. Watch it work. Plant something it will love.
Check the air quality index in your zip code today. Notice what makes it better or worse. Your lungs are listening.
Pick a 10×10-foot patch outside. List every living thing in it. Come back in 30 days. What changed? What stayed?
Calculate one piece of your environmental footprint — food miles, water use, screen time energy. Then change one thing.
Your living lab
One seed. One pot or patch of dirt. Track it from germination to bloom. Every Science Stop on this page lives inside that one sunflower — water, soil, pollinators, air, ecosystem, footprint.
Document it weekly. Share photos with your cohort. The first bloom earns the My Science Girl badge.
