One song. Twenty-one genres. One voice among many — now history is calling you.
Welcome to Gloria Knew Her Voice — a My Girl Power® Listening Lab, and one of our Legacy Makers tributes. Gloria Steinem left us on September 3, 2026, at 92 — still looking forward, still asking what the next generation might do.
This song is her story in verse: Toledo to Smith to India, a pen picked up when newsroom doors had different rules for women, a second wave she stepped into beside Dorothy Pitman Hughes, Bella, Shirley, Fannie, and Betty. But it's really a song about you. Music does what a lecture can't — it helps us learn, remember, and act.
So here's your challenge: play it in the genre you love, then in one you'd never choose. Read the 19-scene storybook. Score your journey, earn coins — and then answer the last line for yourself: Gloria knew her voice. Will you know yours?

Born in Toledo, Ohio, on March 25, 1934, Gloria Steinem studied government at Smith College, spent two years in India learning how people organize, and picked up a pen in newsrooms that had different rules for women than men. Her 1963 undercover report as a Playboy Bunny made the invisible known. In 1971 she helped organize the National Women's Political Caucus with Bella Abzug, Shirley Chisholm, Fannie Lou Hamer and Betty Friedan; in 1972 she co-founded Ms. magazine; she marched for the Equal Rights Amendment and, in 2013, received the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She died at her home in New York City on September 3, 2026, at 92 — still looking forward.
My Girl Power® is where girls and the women who raise them learn to OWN their health, their history, and their voice. Gloria's story is the second verse of a much longer song — Abigail Adams said "Remember the Ladies," Elizabeth, Susan, Lucy and Alice won the vote, and a second wave rose because winning the vote didn't finish the story.
So we wrote her life in verse and let twenty-one genres carry it. A grandmother who loves Gospel, a teen who lives for Hip Hop, a family that dances to Mariachi or Bollywood — each finds their own doorway into the same truth: you are one voice among many, and history is calling you.
Listen, slow the tempo and sing along, read the storybook, score your journey — then do the thing the last verse asks: learn your history, read, question, listen, vote, speak.
In memory of Gloria Steinem, 1934 – 2026 — and dedicated to every girl still finding her voice. Don't just celebrate history. Learn enough to make it. 🦋
This lab lives in the My Girl Power® series — alongside Ambitious Woman, My Cardio Girl, Know Your Blood and the Rise & Shine Frances Munds album — and is tagged to the Network's Legacy Makers Listening Labs, where every channel honors the people who advanced the dream.
She used her pen — what will you use? She made her choice — what will you choose? Don't just remember her name. Remember why she raised it.
