Every Arizonan with Sickle Cell, Seen. Supported. Strong.

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Arizona is the heart of our community — offering education, support, and advocacy for every family touched by sickle cell disease. Now extended through the 360 SCD Hub and powered by The Force for Health Academy.

What We Do

Four Pillars of the Arizona Sickle Cell Community

SCFAZ walks with Arizona families from diagnosis through adulthood — with education, peer support, advocacy, and community. Together with the 360 SCD Hub and FFH Academy, we turn information into action.

📚

Education

Family-friendly, clinically-grounded content on crisis prevention, TCD screening, hydroxyurea, and the full sickle cell care journey — available through the 360 SCD Hub and FFH Academy.

🤝

Peer Support

Support groups, youth programs, and caregiver networks across Arizona. You are never alone — and your story strengthens the whole community.

📣

Advocacy

Fighting for research funding, Medicaid access, TCD screening standards, and gene therapy access for every Arizona family living with SCD.

🎉

Community & Joy

SCD Awareness Month events (September), family picnics, youth camps, and celebrations. Joy is part of prevention too.

Community Voices

Arizona Families, Arizona Stories

Real families, real strength. These are the voices SCFAZ carries into every room — from clinics to the state capitol.

When our son was diagnosed at two weeks old, SCFAZ was the first call that felt like home. The Bingo Card became our weekly family ritual.

— Parent, Phoenix
"

I've been to the ED 40+ times. Finding a peer mentor through SCFAZ changed my whole relationship with my care team — and my pain.

— Young adult, Tucson
"

Advocacy isn't optional for us. SCFAZ taught me how to write a testimony. This year we helped move a bill. Next year we'll move two.
